We know you have been waiting to hear about Ensemble™ and the news of this state-of-the-art technology that powers our Encharge™ battery storage system. This article outlines our achievements to-date and walks you through what will happen over the coming days and weeks until general availability.
For an industry-leading technology like this, our top priorities are compliance and safety for both homeowners and installers. We envision Ensemble to be a technology for every home – allowing homeowners to generate, store, and control energy in a single system while allowing installers the opportunity to sell more, install more, and make more.
In the past quarter, despite the negative impact of COVID-19 on our ability to conduct a worldwide system-level release, our team went all out to ensure that Ensemble meets all of the required compliance standards and is easy to install with the quality and reliability that you have come to expect from Enphase.
We have received all the needed certifications to ship production units in the US.
- Encharge 3 and Encharge 10 received the following certificate of compliance: UL9540, UL9540A, UL1973, UN38.3, UL1998, UL991
- IQ8X-BAT (the microinverters inside Encharge battery storage system) received the following certificate of compliance: UL 1741, UL 62109-1, IEC62109-2IEEE 1547, IEEE 1547.1, CSA C22.2 No 107.1, UL1741 SA, CA Rule 21, HECO SRD 14H
- Enpower received UL listing Notice of Authorization for all the regulatory requirements, including UL 1741, UL 1741 SA, UL1998, CSA 22.2 No. 107.1
- Envoy has received the UL certificate and certificate of compliance for IEEE 2030.5
Five members of our Executive Staff have installed Ensemble in their homes as Alpha users to test and monitor the performance. These sites are operating well and have given us the opportunity for continuous improvement and learning from users with exceptionally high quality and customer experience standards. Quality and customer experience are always top of our minds for products and services alike.
We have over a dozen sites that have begun beta installations. We are monitoring those sites carefully. We have begun production of the hardware to fulfil the current high volume of pre-orders we have on backlog. Many of these units are already shipped and on the ocean for July delivery. The good news is that any final improvements can be made via software over-the-air.
As our valuable partner, we want to keep you informed at every step of our progress. So, we are all ready for our new Ensemble energy management technology. With a focus on exceptional customer experience, we expect to ramp shipments steadily from July onwards.
